Summary:In order to understand the optical center concentration effect on the electron lattice coupling, optical properties of Cs 2 Na Bi x Y 1−x Cl 6 are investigated. According to previous theoretical treatments of Tl + like center, the structured A and C absorption bands exhibit a dynamical Jahn-Teller effect. The A band is extensively studied versus concentration and temperature. Electron-lattice coupling constants have been computed and their concentration dependence is discussed. Emission processes are discussed on the basis of the 3T 1u relaxed excited state of Bi 3+ center. Emission spectra under hydrostatic pressures support our interpretation.
