Summary:A new spatial contour surface 3D solid modeling method of globoidal indexing cam based on MATLAB and Pro/E,on the basis of profile surface equation of globoidal indexing cam is presented.The corresponding coordinate points,which can be calculated by sample programming of MATLAB language and the curves and surfaces is generated by using curve command in Pro/E4.0.Then the surfaces can be merged and materialized by materialized command.Compared with the present programming methods,this method has the follow traits as simple and easy to understand,convenient to design,good generality,and can significantly improve the efficiency of globoidal cam 3D modeling.
