Summary:On examination, pulse rate was 86/min, blood pressure was 120/80mmHg, and temperature was 98.5 degrees Fahrenheit. [4] Cytomegalovirus Colitis is usually diagnosed by a high index of suspicion with the help of Serum CMV IgM Titres, CMV PCR, or the gold standard test, "CMV Inclusion Bodies" on histopathology.Once diagnosed, highly selective treatment options like Ganciclovir, Valganciclovir, Foscarnet, and Cidofovir are available. Management of active infection in an immunological condition requiring immunosuppression is quite a challenge, and if done right, it can significantly reduce morbidity and mortality in these patients.
