Summary:The microfinance has turned into an alternative to overcome the adverse conditions that confront a high percentage of the population, specially in Latin-American countries. UNIMINUTO leads an offer that integrates the academic quality, the generation of new opportunities in top education and the design of a system of microcredit adapted to the high education inside a solidary model of management. The article socializes the first five years of Coop-Uniminuto as a precooperative organization, in a descriptive research framework, and the reached results. Las microfinanzas se han convertido en una alternativa para superar las condiciones adversas que afrontan un alto porcentaje de la población, especialmente en países latinoamericanos. UNIMINUTO lidera una propuesta que integra la calidad académica, la generación de nuevas oportunidades en educación superior y el diseño de un sistema de microcrédito adaptado a la educación superior dentro de un modelo empresarial solidario. El artículo, dentro de un marco de investigación descriptiva, socializa los primeros cinco años de Coop-Uniminuto como entidad precooperativa y los resultados alcanzados.
