Summary:This article analyzes the transformation of gender and identity of Cuban women in different social contexts, grandmothers born in the 1930s, the mother-daughters of those grandmothers born in the 1950s, the grandchildren of those grandmothers born in the 1970s and the girls and adolescents of the 1990s. The article seeks to answer the question, what has happened in their gender identities since the Cuban Revolution of 1959? The results show that women in the most recent generation feel good being women, if they were to be reborn they would be reborn as women and despite everything they feel great satisfaction in the possibility of being a mother, a satisfaction not accessible to men.
