[To evaluate the effect of housing system on growth and feed intake in Piemontese breed calves, 30 subjects (15 in tied stall and 15 in group pens) were reared in the same conditions and fed hay and concentrate for an expected daily gain of 1.2 kg. During the trial, initial and final live weight and feed intake were recorded; average daily weight gain, daily energy level and feed conversion were calculated.] Per verificare l´effetto del sistema di stabulazione sull´accrescimento e sul consumo di alimenti in vitelli di razza Piemontese, 30 animali (15 alla posta e 15 in box), sono stati allevati nelle medesime condizioni ambientali ed alimentati con fieno e mangime per un accrescimento giornaliero di 1,2 kg. Durante il periodo di allevamento sono stati rilevati i pesi iniziali e finali ed i consumi di mangime e di fieno e sono poi stati calcolati l´incremento ponderale medio giornaliero, il livello energetico e l´indice di conversione alimentare
