Summary: | The game of fictional writers is one of the most evocative intertextual
phenomena between Jiménez Lozano and Cervantes. This work analyses the power of a literary device which, full of irony and combined with the game of paratexts,
shows the validity of Cervantes’ poetics and its effectiveness in unravelling reality.
The chosen examples illustrate the congruence of the concept of complicity, defended by the author against that of influence. Being familiar with Cervantes’ works
allows us to better understand a writer of modern times who shares his vision of
the world, although the opposite is also true: by reading the works of the man from
Avila we gain valuable insight into the genius of the classic writer
