Summary: | The purpose of this study is to present the psychometric properties of a Spanish version of the Civic Behavior Scale (CBS), a new instrument developed by the authors that measure the perceived civic behaviors of workers in an Organization from the perspective of their colleagues, their work team and their superior immediate boss. For this purpose, 340 workers of a Higher Education Institution in Ecuador, responded to the CBS. Confirmatory Factor analysis using structural equation modeling reveled that que questionnaire shows a high reliability (α=0.96) and convergent and discriminant validity and that can be used by researches and practitioners to assess civic behaviors in educational institution.
El propósito de este estudio es presentar las propiedades psicométricas de un nuevo instrumento desarrollado por los autores para medir la percepción que tienen los trabajadores de una Organización con respecto a los comportamientos cívicos de sus compañeros, de su equipo de trabajo y de su jefe. Para esto, 340 colaboradores de una Institución de Superior de Educación en Ecuador respondieron a la Escala de Comportamientos Cívicos (ECC) y a través de un análisis factorial confirmatorio y un modelo de ecuaciones estructurales se demostró que el instrumento presenta una alta fiabilidad (α=0.96) y una validez convergente y discriminante que puede ser usada por otros investigadores y profesionales para evaluar los comportamientos cívicos en entornos educativos. |
