Summary:This article aims to communicate one of the products of the research "Ambiente sano y vivienda digna: colisión en la elaboración y ejecución de proyectos urbanos en Medellín". Dwelling house is addressed from in order to describe the legal developments and to establish their social, economic and policy implications since the point of view of for the doctrine, the Constitution and jurisprudence in Colombia. The methodology was mixed: it used a quantitative and a qualitative approach, but the last one was more used, because the study was focused on a contemporary social reality. Among the results it can be found a purposeful projection of right to the worthy dwelling house in relation to the habitat. © Revista Colombiana de Ciencias Sociales.
