Summary: | Historiography has explained the marriage of Count-Duke of Olivare’s only legitimate daughter from the Count-Duke’s perspective because of his enormous political impact during the first half of Felipe IV’s government. This work presents an approach to the reasons of the marriage from the perspective of Ramiro Núñez de Guzmán and his family, in order to bring a wider perspective on the subject. We understand this marriage as a way of social and political improvement for the status of the Guzmán de Toral family. |
