Summary:This research aimed to evaluate the design of a Texon cutting tool which was done using the concept of integration of quality function deployment (QFD) and value engineering (VE). QFD was used to obtain the variable attributes desired by the operator, priority technical characteristics, and critical parts of the product while VE was used to provide an alternative improvement of materials used to reduce the manufacturing costs. The final stage of the design process was to increase the value of the products for consumers and reduce the costs to be incurred by the manufacturer. To reduce the cost, the design process modified the components by buying materials that have a lower price but have the same quality.
