Summary: | The litter includes the most superficial segment of soil in a forest area. It's a mix composed by dead plant,
such as leaves, needles and twigs that has fallen to the ground and provides habitat for small animal, fungi and plants.
Its decomposition depends on addition to micro-fungi and bacteria, the action of a rich entomofauna that is on its
content, which makes part in the litter fragmentation processes. This paper aimed to evaluate the entomofauna present
on a preserved area in the caatinga biome during the rainy and dry seasons. This survey was conducted in the National
Forest of Açu-RN, where we took place eight entomological samples, but four of those were collected in the rainy
season (May) and the other four samples in the dry season (September). In each of those areas were distributed 20
pitfall traps, made of 2 liters plastic bottles, with 5oo ml water into and a few drops of detergent. The traps were buried
at ground level. The got values from the count and percentage of individuals were analyzed in relation to the
distribution and seasonality. The averages for the number of individuals were subjected to an analysis of variance and
test “t” (p <0.05). The entomological orders found on the litter in both periods were Hymenoptera, Coleoptera,
Orthoptera, Diptera, Isoptera, Blatodea, Thysanura, Hemiptera and Lepidoptera. At the end, It was possible to conclude
the rainy season favors the higher incidence of entomofauna in the National Forest of Açu litter, except the
Hymenoptera order. The greatest number of individuals collected during the dry period were ants. The difference
between the collected entomofauna in rainy and dry seasons was very significant.
chuvoso (05/05) e quatro no período seco (09/05).
detergente.
caatinga estudada. |
