Summary: | The Research Unit of Physical and Sports Performance (UIRFIDE) of the Department of the University
of Valencia, has established a line of research of major sport events in which one has been in line of this
work. This investigation has been carried out after the execution of the Grand Prix Formula 1 celebrated
in Valencia in 2008. 194 surveys have been carried out among the citizens of the city of Valencia, being
50% of them residents on the nearest districts to the Circuit. As most important results we can emphasize,
that Valencia citizens have a great knowledge for Formula1, as well an extend majority has not hopes for
the celebration of the event in the city. In your opinion, the event has a repercussion local and international,
especially. Tourism and economy are the areas would be benefit with carrying out the event, and the
organizers, the XX and the politics are the most benefit groups and otherwise, fewer benefits would be
citizens. The interviewers think that level of preparation of the city is good for to organize this event, and
83% say that will not go to the event.
