Summary:The article is devoted to the study of the powers and characteristics of the entities implementing measures aimed at preventing and combating domestic violence. Attention was drawn to the following subjects, namely: specially authorized bodies in the field of prevention and counteraction of domestic violence; other bodies and institutions entrusted with the functions of implementing measures in the field of prevention and countermeasures against domestic violence; general and specialized support services for victims; citizens of Ukraine, foreigners and stateless persons who are in Ukraine on legal grounds. The powers assigned to authorized units of the National Police of Ukraine, including their powers in the field of preventing and countering domestic violence, were studied. It was established that police officers exercise their powers in the given area taking into account international standards of response of law enforcement structures to facts of domestic violence and conducting risk assessment. The task of preventing and countering domestic violence, the implementation of which is entrusted to various units of the National Police, namely: patrol police officers, employees of the preventive activity sector, employees of mobile groups for responding to facts of domestic violence, juvenile prevention police officers, was analyzed. It was found that the current legislation does not reflect that the tasks of preventing and countering domestic violence are implemented by the above-mentioned employees of the National Police, which requires additions in the regulatory and legal sphere. It is proposed that the current legislation needs to improve the powers of the subjects of combating domestic violence, in particular, as regards the powers and tasks of individual units of the National Police (DOP and POG, patrol police, juvenile prevention units, and others), since the powers of these entities are prescribed in various legal acts, there is no specification of the powers to counter and prevent domestic violence of each separate unit.
