Summary:The article examines the essence and components of information and analytical support for law enforcement agencies in the fight against crime. The methodological approaches and main tasks of information and analytical activities of operational units are revealed. It is determined that proper information support is an integral part of the effective functioning of any social system, including mechanisms for combating criminal manifestations. Special attention is paid to modern trends in the development of information technologies, which are actively integrated into the field of combating crime. The processes of transforming source data are now automated, which contributes to the creation of specialized systems for processing criminological information, automated search platforms and management systems. Criminological data analysis is a fundamental basis for effective crime prevention, combating crime and predicting criminal activity. Thanks to the analytical processing of the collected data, law enforcement agencies are able to assess the operational situation in the controlled territories, track changes in general crime and its individual categories, and develop comprehensive preventive measures. The key characteristic of information and analytical support is the formation of the final analytical product by combining traditional research methods with modern analytical techniques, which ensures the receipt of reliable information. It is concluded that the application of the methodology of information and analytical support in the study of crime and its determinants allows for the optimal integration of relevant structures and procedures into the counteraction system. At the same time, the content of such support goes beyond simple data analysis for operational purposes and is used to solve a much wider range of tasks of countering crime in various areas. A promising direction for the development of information and analytical support is the introduction of predictive analytics, which allows not only to respond to already committed crimes, but also to predict potential criminal threats. The use of multifactor analysis models and large data sets creates opportunities for early detection of criminogenic factors and areas of increased risk. This, in turn, allows you to optimize the allocation of law enforcement resources and focus preventive measures on the most problematic areas, significantly increasing the effectiveness of the crime prevention system as a whole. The article emphasizes that improving criminological methods of influencing crime remains a priority task for both the scientific community and law enforcement practice, which together form the crime prevention system and cover the scope of activities of the relevant subjects.
