Summary: | Sialoliths are calcified structures developed into the salivary duct system. They occur in approximately 1.2% of the population and are more common in men, although they may appear in young people, elderly people, and, more rarely, children. Here, we report a case of a 12-year-old female patient, who was attended by the oral pathology service in December 2015, with asymptomatic lesion in buccal mucosa with 3 years of evolution. Incisional biopsy was performed with histopathologic diagnosis of juvenile xanthogranuloma, subsequent removal of the lesion, and anatomopathologic examination evidencing the nodule size. After 5 months of follow-up, there was no sign of recurrence and oral cavity was normal. |
