| Summary: | The aims of this research is to exploring the students abstraction in solve geometric pattern problem based on the gender. The subject are 31 students in Grade X Multimedia consist of 12 male students and 19 female students. This research is qualitative descriptive research. Geometric pattern problems and interview guided are the instrument in this research. The result show that female students can master the concept of geometric pattern to solve the problem easily. Beside, they using the knowledge to representing the object and writing the general term well. For male students, they still not able to master the concept. In the several stages, they still using the manual way to solve the problem and still not able to representing the object well. In the problem solving stage, they still do any mistake. Recommendation for future study, explore further about students abstraction in other mathematics problem. |
