Summary: | A field experiment entitled “Eff ect of pinching and cycocel on growth and yield of African marigold (Tagetes erecta L.)” was conducted during Rabi, 2023-24 at Instructional Farm, School of Agricultural Sciences, Dabok, Udaipur. The experiment comprised of nine treatments viz., T1- (Control), T2- (Pinching at 30 DAT + No spray), T3- (Pinching at 45 DAT + No spray), T4 -(No pinching + 500 ppm CCC), T5- (Pinching at 30 DAT + 500 ppm CCC), T6- (Pinching at 45 DAT + 500 ppm CCC), T7- (No pinching +1000 ppm CCC), T8-(Pinching at 30 DAT + 1000 ppm CCC) and T9-(Pinching at 45 DAT + 1000 ppm CCC) replicated thrice in Randomized Block Design. Marigold variety Pooja Hybrid was used as a test crop. It was found that maximum value of growth parameters viz., number of primary branches plant-1 (19.36), number of secondary branches plant-1 (26.93), flowering parameters viz.,days taken to budinitiation (42.25 days), days to 50% flowering (63.45 days) yield parameters and yield viz., flower diameter (5.23 cm), number of flowers plant-1 (52.86), flower yield plot-1 (6.10 kg) and flower yield ha-1 (18.84 t) were recorded Pinching at 30 DAT along with foliar spray of cycocel @ 1000 ppm may be recommended for African marigold to obtain superior values of growth, flowering, yield attributes, yield and increased of African marigold. |
