Summary: | In order to prepare Ce/Al 2 O 3 composite coating on oxide film quickly, a new process of ac deposition method in a solution containing H 2 O 2 and CeCl 3 was introduced. Scanning electron microscopy/energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy, electron probe microanalyser, X-ray diffractometer and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy were adopted to analyse the coating. The results showed that the Ce/Al 2 O 3 composite coating was easy to prepare when the Al 2 O 3 film thickness was over 6·8 μm. The Ce sediment was amorphous of cerium (III and IV) hydroxide and located into the pores near the surface of Al 2 O 3 films layer. The forming mechanism of the composite coating was discussed accordingly. |
