Summary:In modern schooling, the role of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) in environmental education is considered important as it provides educational material related to environmental issues. The aim of the study is to investigate the opinions of nursery school teachers regarding the use of the possibilities offered by new technologies of ICT in environmental education as an important tool for understanding the social changes and in particular for modeling preschool children’s environmental behavior in Primary Education. A quantitative survey was conducted on a sample of 78 primary school preschool teachers. The research findings showed that the use of ICT in the implementation of environmental education programs can increase teachers’ and, by extension, students’ awareness of environmental issues and lead to the adoption of environmentally responsible behaviour. The use of ICT represents an attractive educational and environmental tool as it contributes to the achievement of educational objectives regarding the development of intellectual functions, the active participation of weak students, the management of the school environment and the promotion of cooperative teaching.
