Summary:The author sketches out a whole range of current transnational threats, which are aggravated by the process of globalisation and could harm society in numerous ways. He emphasizes that only combined actions of state and private actors as well as civil and military authorities in and beyond the nation state can provide adequate countermeasures. The structure of these partnerships is exemplified by a description of the increasing institutional relations built up between German security authorities as well as between them and other actors.
