Summary:This study aims to identify the determinants of employee career goals. By utilising social cognitive career theory, self-regulatory focus theory, and perceived organisational support theory, constructs and measures were derived from existing literature. A pilot study was conducted with 51 marine engineers in a rectangular hierarchy occupation in Sri Lanka.
