Summary:Online games are considered as distrubing children in managing their time, influencing their bad habits and bad learning achievement. The studies about the effect of online games on students have been explored, but for depth exploration on each individu has not been explored. Therefore, this study explores the potential of online games in influencing children's English language acquisition. Qualitative approach is used in this research and the data collection techniques used were semi-structured interviews with children, parents, and observations when children played online games, and analysis of documents such as school assignments. The findings show that the child who played more online games demonstrated a stronger grasp of English vocabulary, speak, fast respond to the questions related to words meaning than child who has less preference in playing online games. Interestingly, both children gain the English subject score at school. Furthermore, there are many advantages of learning English through online games that found such as motivation and confidence. Additionally, exploring the influence of language aptitude, learning approaches, and environmental support within the context of online gaming can provide a more holistic understanding of how online games can be harnessed to optimize children's English language learning.
