Summary: | Objective: To analyze solid waste policies in Rondônia and their contribution to the 2030 Agenda, presenting an overview of the legal framework and waste policies in the state, in addition to their relationships with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Theoretical Framework: Environmental regulations, such as the National Environmental Policy and the National Solid Waste Policy (Law No. 12,305/2010), define guidelines for waste management, promoting shared responsibility, supported by the 1988 Constitution, which guarantees a balanced environment. Method: Qualitative bibliographic research, with an exploratory and explanatory focus, aimed at understanding complex social phenomena. The data come from documents, standards and articles from the last five years, in a documentary survey; with Bardin Content Analysis. Results and Discussion: The National Solid Waste Policy, by Law 12,305/2010, seeks to mitigate environmental impacts through adequate management. The study focuses on the immediate geographic region of Porto Velho, with five municipalities. The State Solid Waste Plan, coordinated by SEDAM, aims to reduce waste, but faces challenges such as inadequate disposal and the use of landfills. Research Implications: It has relevant practical implications for mapping and analyzing the National Solid Waste Policy in the state of Rondônia, and establishing connections and guidelines that contribute to the SDGs of the UN 2030 Agenda. Originality/Value: This study contributes to the literature by [highlighting the originality of the research, whether through the innovative approach, discoveries or practical contributions]. The relevance and value of this research are evidenced by [explain how the results may impact the area of study or professional practice]. Even though it is an exploratory study, it advances in the originality of establishing an approach to a current and very sensitive topic regarding aspects of environmental sustainability. |
