Summary:Optical properties of La-modified lead zirconate titanate (9/65/35) in the intermediate phase were studied by the HAUP (high accuracy universal polarimeter) method. It was found that this material is optically inactive under electric fields. On the other hand, temperature dependence of the quadratic electrooptic coefficient was measured after careful corrections using the HAUP method.
