Synthetic Studies of Laurencin and Related Compounds. V. Transformation of cis -2-Ethyl-8-formyl-3,4,7,8-dihydro-2 H -oxocin-3-one 3-Ethylene Acetal into (±)-Laurencin

Abstract Transformation of the title starting material into (±)-laurencin, which implies synthesis of the natural product, is described. The structure and configuration of synthetic intermediates are defined on the basis of the spectral evidence.
