Contaminación y pérdida de biodiversidad por actividades mineras y agropecuarias: estado del arte

The services provided from biodiversity and ecosystems are endangered by the various activities carried out by human. Among them, mining and agricultural activities have contributed to the loss of biodiversity and deterioration of ecosystems, however the damage generated by mining is overshadowed by the economic benefits it brings. Thus, the objective of this study was to compile scientific literature that helps to determine the way in which these activities harm biodiversity and ecosystems, as well as the negative effects that they trigger between them. To do this, original and review articles from the Web of science, Scopus and Scielo databases were used. The findings show that there is contamination with heavy metals, a product of mining and the use of agrochemicals by agricultural activity. However, there are negative externalities generated in a unidirectional manner, with agricultural production being subject to the damage caused by mining. Los servicios que brindan la biodiversidad y los ecosistemas son puestos en peligro por las diversas actividades que realiza el hombre. Entre ellas, la minería y las actividades agrícolas han contribuido con la pérdida de biodiversidad y deterioro de los ecosistemas, empero los daños generados por la minería son opacados por los beneficios económicos que trae consigo. Así, el objetivo de este estudio fue compilar literatura científica, que ayude a determinar la forma en que estas actividades perjudican a la biodiversidad y a los ecosistemas, así como los efectos negativos que desencadenan entre ellas. Para ello, se recurrió a artículos originales y de revisión de las bases de datos Web of science, Scopus y Scielo. Los hallazgos evidencian que existe contaminación con metales pesados, producto de la minería y el uso de agroquímicos por parte de la actividad agropecuaria. No obstante, existen externalidades negativas generadas de forma unidireccional, estando la producción agropecuaria supeditada al perjuicio provocado por la minería.
