Summary:This article addresses the Huguenot connections of the English regicide Edmund Ludlow, who was forced into continental exile by the Restoration of the Stuart monarchy in England. For more than 30 years, Ludlow lived as a fugitive among Protestants in Geneva and in the Swiss Pays de Vaud where his local networks protected him against royalist assassins. Many of those who helped him were Huguenots who had stories of flight and exile in their own families.
