Summary: | Abstract
Pretreatment counts were made on the day of application by counting 50 adult female scales per bromeliad as either live or dead. Three bromeliads infested with D. bromeliae and 4 bromeliads infested with D. boisduvalii were dipped in either 10 gal of water or dimethoate 4E at 0.5 lb ai/100 gal H20 for 30 s. The plants were inverted after dipping to drain excess insecticide and then maintained in a greenhouse (T = 27-32°C). Posttreatment counts were made at 14 and 28 days, counting 50 adult female scales per bromeliad. |
