Summary:Abstract Pretreatment counts were made on the day of application by counting 50 adult female scales per bromeliad as either live or dead. The plants were inverted after dipping to drain excess insecticide and then maintained in a greenhouse (T = 27-32°C). Posttreatment counts were made at 14 and 28 days, counting 50 adult female scales per bromeliad.
