Summary:Higher education today plays a key role in the education system in India. This paper bent to formulate a SE Model on the impact of student's engagement between professor's proficiency, student's expectations and perceived student learning outcome among college students studying in Chennai. The study is conducted with a structured survey using exploratory and confirmatory Factor Analysis and structural equation model has been used to identify the professor's proficiency factors and student 'expectation drives on student engagement. Impact of students' engagement on students' performance. The findings indicated that academically engaged student's expectation drives along with professor's proficiency are the main reason for the performance of the students.
