Summary:Working collaboratively is a critical ecology practice, yet professional training in how to design and implement group work in our courses is limited. We offer suggestions from the literature and our own experience to help instructors enhance collaborative learning in their course. We also share professional development workshop materials that can build these teaching skills for the ecology education community. We invite instructors to adopt and lead our workshop at their home institutions and other professional society meetings. By working together to improve our collaborative curricula, we practice the skills we hope to instill in our students.
