Summary:The scientific and technological advances of the 21st century imply a transformation of every area of human life, so that the law does not escape the scope and transformations of technological tools such as Artificial Intelligence. In this sense, the objective of this article was to determine if artificial intelligence can be a valid legal operator, according to a documentary methodology. This is a documentary-bibliographic study that used the interview as a data collection instrument, which was applied to the artificial intelligence software ChatGPT, in order to contrast its arguments with other authors regarding the scope of the use of the artificial intelligence in legal matters. It is concluded that despite the current artificial intelligence software being a pioneering tool, it does not have, at least in the medium term, the capacity to replace humans as legal operators; However, it turns out to be an important tool in the different legal processes by being an assistant or guide in the actions of the prosecutor, lawyer or judge, among other aspects of interest for the administration of justice.
