Summary:Due to dwindling of fossil fuels and other non renewable energy resources, there has been a considerable advancement in field of renewable energy resources. Renewable energy provides a more stable source of power which is constantly replenished and infinite. The power obtained from the renewable sources depends on the geographical conditions which are varying, hence results in variable power generation. Power electronic converters play a very important role in obtaining a constant power from the renewable resources. In this paper studies on Oscillating Water Column (OWC) based Wave Energy Conversion System (WECS) has been carried out. The work involves the modeling of system, control of the dc and ac voltage for standalone application. The controllers are designed to regulate the voltage and address certain power quality issues.
