Bibliography: | A method of ion chromatography (IC) was developed for the determination of tetraethyl ammonium chloride (TEAC) in the sodium chloride by-products. The sodium chloride was dissolved with deionized water and filtrated by a 0.22 μm nylon filter membrane and On Guard C18 column. The analytical column was Dionex Ionpac CS17 (250 mm × 4 ram) with a guard column Ionpac CG17(50 mm ×4 mm). The eluent was 20 mmol/L MSA with 0.8 mL/min flow rate. The detection was performed by a suppressed conductivity detector. The quantitative analysis was external standard calibration curve. The linear range of TEAC in the method was 1.0 - 40.0 mg/L( r^2 = 0. 9999) , the average recovery was 100.5% with the relative standard deviation 0.01% , and the detection limit (S/N = 3) was 0. 006 mg/L. The method has been applied to determine contents of tetraethyl ammonium chloride (TEAC1) in sodium chloride of the industrial by-products with satisfactory results.
