Summary: | Reviews the book, Progress in Physiological Psychology. Vol. 4 edited by Eliot Stellar and James M. Sprague (1971). The authors present some of the major work of his Pennsylvania group and their current international confreres. The main thrust of the book consists in the chapters on hunger and thirst. While many of the findings and viewpoints have been reviewed by these authors in alternate sources, the collection does honor to the continued development and viability of the presentations. On all too few occasions in an active scientist's career do happy conjunctions of data excitement, theory development, and even-handed editorship occur. For most of the present authors, this is one of those times. (PsycINFO Database Record (c) 2016 APA, all rights reserved) |
