The analysis technology of near infrared spectroscopy has played a vital role in tobacco industry for its high efficient and rapid analysis. The characteristics of near infrared spectral analysis technology, including its advantages and application limitations were first introduced in detail; secondly, quantitative analysis processes were summarized; then the quantitative analysis of near infrared metrology method, such as spectral preprocessing methods and chemometrics algorithm of the near infrared quantitative analysis were discussed; finally, the application status of near infrared spectroscopy quantitative analysis technology in chemical components analysis of tobacco and cigarette smoke in recent years were demonstrated.
