The traceability identification of agricultural products is the core link of constructing traceability system, and identification technology has become the hot topic of study in the world. This review expounded the essential components and characteris- tics of traceability system, analyzed the compositions of traceability unit and its division method, compared the application situation of several traceability identification technologies, pointed out the existent main problems in the application of traceability identifica- tion technology of agricultural products, and raised some countermeasures and suggestions for promoting the application of traceability identification technology of agricultural products in China, for the sake of providing references for studying and developing the traceability identification technology of agricultural products which is suitable for China.
