Summary:A fast, automated, and sensitive method has been developed for the determination of ammonia gas in the atmosphere. The method involves diffusion scrubber based sampling followed by ion chromatographic analysis with conductivity detection. To ensure maximum sensitivity, specially purified eluent was used. The method has 0.02ppbv(2 sigma) LOD. Single measurement can be made in less than 5 minutes. The method has been successfully applied to Seoul air monitoring.
