The principle of regulation of reactive power in magnetic-valve controllable reactor is introduced in this paper. Electromagnetic field software of ANSYS is applied for describing the magnetic path and DC magnetic bias. Magnetization curve data of silicon steel sheet is obtained from the DC magnetization experiment. By programming of Matlab,cubic spline interpolation function is used for calculating the output currents of MCR. In order to find out the relationship of magnetic saturation value and harmonic,the output current with DC magnetic bias is analyzed by using the method of Fourier transform. The result provides reference value for practical engineering application.
