基于零折射率超材料的高定向性微带天线

We design, fabricate, and experimental demonstrate a high-directivity microstrip antenna based on planar net-shaped zero-index metamaterial. An averaging effect over the metamaterial structure yields an zero permittivity at 10.24 GHz, which results in a metamaterial with zero index of refraction. The experimental results indicated that, the directivity of the zero-index microstrip antenna improved greatly, the half-power beamwidths reduction of E plane and H plane are 56.67° and 26,60°, respectively. Moreover, the side radiation reduced while the forward radiation increased, and the gain of the antenna is enhanced by 3.80 dB.
