Based on cascaded H-bridge unit module, the multilevel modulation technology is applied to system of STATCOM, and the key parameters of H-bridge module are analyzed and designed in this paper.Meanwhile, this pa-per puts traditional feedback decoupling control theory and APF control technology into STATCOM, and researches a kind of compensation system which is suitable for reactive power in the coal mine and harmonic compound current quality to optimize the grid power quality.Under this theory and technique, test prototype of 1140V cascaded STAT-COM is built.Test shows the STATCOM device can realize the compound compensation for reactive power and har-monics, and has a good compensation effect.
