α-Helical Coiled Coils: More Facts and Better Predictions

New developments have expanded the field of coiled coil prediction in protein structures. Coiled coils were found to exist in a wide range of proteins, new protein sequences became available and X-ray crystallographic data provided inferences about coiled coil structure.
