According to the request of basic farmland layout in the new general land utilization planning, based on agricultural land classification and GIS technology, this study formed the agricultural land classification mapping technology, the average classification calculatinon technology, cultivated land analysis technology, selection of high quality out off the same classification cultivated land, conversion technology; built the method of basic farmland spatial layout based on the result of agricultural land classification; finally took Dazu county, Chongqing city as an example.
