The use of guar and its new cultivar Huijin 1 were introduced in detail, including the breeding process of Huijin 1, its botanic characteristic and property, the testing result for its quality, resistance, yield and the comprehensive measures for its cultivation technology. Furthermore, the development advantage and prospect to plant guar in Hainan province as a new economic crop were discussed.
