On the basis of the analysis of the related document literatures in recent 10 years, the author summarized the new changes in the studies of rural geography. The studies of rural geography have appeared two changes ： one is the microcosmic studied subject, namely the rural household is taken as the basic economy unit of rural area; the other is the microcosmic studied region, namely the village region is used as the microscopic regional unit of rural area, and the close attention is paid to the formation and development of specialized villages.
