Summary:Reviews the book, Psychophysiology of Cardiovascular Control: Models, Methods, and Data edited by J. F. Orlebeke, G. Mulder, and L. J. P. van Doornen (1985). This volume comprises 63 chapters that are distributed among five sections neural and endocrine factors in cardiovascular control; noninvasive measurement, data analysis; information processing and cardiovascular activity; and stress, coping, and individual reactivity. In summary, this is probably not a book for every shelf, nor even for every psychophysiologist, but there is an enormous amount of valuable information contained between its covers, and it should be consulted by any investigator who is thinking of assessing cardiovascular behavior in the context of a research program. It is likely that even the most sophisticated cardiovascular psychophysiologist will find new and valuable information in this book. (PsycINFO Database Record (c) 2017 APA, all rights reserved)
