Entomopathogenic fungi is a very important biocontrol agent, their utilization in agricuhural and forestry pests control, replacing or reducing traditional chemicals, is the future direction of pests sustainable management. In current study, the entomopathogenic fungi Metarhizium flavoviride strain SM076 was isolated, and its biological characteristics were studied in the laboratory. Result indicated that different media and temperatures could affect its mycelia growth, spore yield and conidia germination. Optimal temperature for SM076 culture was 20~29℃ and 26% was the best temperature for mycelia growth and spore yield. PDA and Czapek media were both suitable for its sporulation, while PDA was best for mycelia growth. Our research showed that M. flavoviride SM076 strain could be a good agent in pest biological control.
