[Objective]This study aimed to investigate the widespread epidemic of bluetongue virus (BTV) in rumi- nants of Guangxi in order to provide theoretical references for the prevention and control of bluetongue disease (BT). [Method]The AGID test was used to detect the antibodies of BTV in 2535 goat sera and 496 buffalo sera, of which both groups were collections from Guangxi province. The correlation between the climate, geography factors, and seroprevalence distribution were also analyzed. [Result]The seroprevalence in goats and buffaloes were 36.53% and 43.55%, respective- ly; furthermore, the goats and buffaloes of Nanning City exhibited the highest seroprevalence, which accounted for 78.13% and 85.71%, respectively.
