Highlights • The salient and novel findings of this submitted paper include the discovery of a novel NTRK1 gene rearrangement in colon cancer: TPR–NTRK1. • Observation of two different TPM3–NTRK1 transcripts in the same patient colon cancer sample, further highlighting the molecular heterogeneity. • Experimental findings based on a large series (408) of patient colon cancer samples showing that NTRK1 gene rearrangements occur at a frequency of 0.5%.
