Summary: | In addition to their key roles in cellular survival, death, proliferation and metabolism, the Foxo subfamily of forkhead (Fox) transcription factors play critical roles in the homeostasis of immune-relevant cells, including T cells, B cells, neutrophils and other non-lymphoid lineages that modulate inflammation in disease states such as inflammatory arthritis and systemic lupus erythematosus. This review summarizes such current and expanding knowledge of the Foxo family members in immunity, and their potential as therapeutic targets in inflammatory disease. |
